I obtained my PhD degree from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) where I was a member of the Distributed Information Systems Lab (LSIR), and my MSc and BSc degrees from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) where I was a member of the Artificial Intelligence Lab (AI).
My research focuses on news analytics and particularly on scientific misinformation; I have proposed methods for combating online scientific misinformation at the claim, article, and source level, and coordinated the development of a real-time news analytics platform for investigating the media landscape at scale. I am broadly interested in the research areas of Misinformation, Fact-Checking, Computational Journalism, Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Semantic Web.
