Johannes Hentschel studied music education, music theory, and Romance studies in Freiburg i. Br. and Lübeck. He is preparing a doctoral dissertation dealing with automated analysis of large collections of musical scores using machine learning methods. At the DCML, he therefore contributes to maintaining, expanding and evaluating corpora of machine-readable music. His main interest lies in cognitive theories of music and language and how they relate to learning and teaching music. In his free time, Johannes is a dedicated accordionist, pianist and singer.
