Publication: “Towards an Expanded History of Television”

Towards an Expanded History of Television is a digital anthology that has recently been published on the open-access scholarly publishing platform, Living Books about History.

Towards an Expanded History of Television is edited by dhCenter member Ann-Katrin Weber (University of Basel) and François Vallotton (University of Lausanne), and is published in English and French. The collection aims to “lay the foundations for an expanded history of television at the intersection of media archaeology, intermedial perspectives, and a comprehensive analysis of vision and remote communication”.

The work is a product of the research project, “Beyond Public Broadcasting. Towards an Expanded History of Television in Switzerland” (Au-delà du service public. Pour une histoire élargie de la télévision en Suisse), which was funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and co-directed by Weber and Vallotton.

Living Books about History is a project of infoclio.ch, the Swiss portal for the historical sciences.
