On September 4th, dhCenter member Vincent Kaufmann was invited by Swiss Public Radio RTS to talk about a new book he has co-authored on mobility and climate.
“Pour en finir avec la vitesse” is a recently published work by Vincent Kaufmann, an associate professor of urban sociology at EPFL, and colleagues Tom Dubois, Christophe Gay and Sylvie Landriève. All are members of the Mobile Lives research forum on the mobilities of the future.
In their new work, Kaufmann and his co-authors critically examine the faster paces at which the digital revolution has allowed us to move and travel. They argue that we should “slow down our lifestyles and reorganize the land to live in greater proximity respond to climate challenges”.
